You just need to provide that information to Excel to make this function work.
Think it this way: when you write a VLOOKUP function, you’re trying to tell Excel: “Hey, I’m looking for this value, on this table, on this column, and I want it to be exact match.” However, most people have a problem understanding this function. That looks pretty simple, does it? Well, it is. False is for exact match, True is for an approximate match.
range_lookup: You define whether you want an exact match or not. col_index_num: You define the column where the value you’re looking for is on that table. table_array: You select the table where the value you’re looking for is located. lookup_value: You select the value you want to look up on a different table.
